Carlos was born on November 20, 1981 in Aschaffenburg, West Germany and grew up in Juneau, Alaska. Carlos is the son of Charles and Renee Boozer. He has an older sister Natasha and three younger siblings, Charles, Nakeisha and Natenya. He is father to three sons, Carmani and twins, Cayden and Cameron
Carlos lettered four years in basketball at Juneau-Douglas High School for head coach George Houston. Carlos averaged 24.0 points and 9.9 rebounds a game as a junior. He led his senior year squad to a 24-3 record by averaging 29.0 points and 12.0 rebounds a game. Carlos scored a career-high 44 points and during high school went 95-12 during his four-year career. He collected over 2,500 career points. He sparked his team to back-to-back state titles during his sophomore and junior campaigns. Carlos was a four-time all-state choice and was named Alaska’s Player of the Year three times.
On two occasions, he was selected as a Parade Magazine All-American in high school and was a USA Today First-Team All-America selection after his senior season. Carlos tabbed a McDonald’s All-America and a Slam Magazine All-America. He participated in the McDonald’s All-America game, securing 22 points and 11 rebounds. Carlos also played in the Magic Johnson Roundball Classic, collecting 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Carlos’s favorite food is barbecue chicken and if he were not in the NBA, he would be a real estate developer. His hobbies include doodling, watching movies and playing chess. His favorite movies are The Lord of the Rings, Friday, Braveheart and The Matrix.
